Case no 12

History :   40 year old male, presented with recurrent abdominal pain
Technique :  CT abdominal study with IV and oral contrast administration

Findings :
·        Marked dilatation of duodenum( D ) , and stomach ( S  ).
·        Vertical orientation of superior mesenteric artery (black arrow) and superior mesenteric vein( blue arrow) , after that inverted relationship  ( SMA to the right
side of SMV )
·        Whirllike  appearance of bowel and mesentery wrapping around superior mesenteric artery ( yellow circle ).
·        Absence of pancreatic uncinate process.
·        Small bowel ( red arrow ) on right,  and colon on left ( yellow arrows).

Diagnosis: Intestinal malrotation associated with midgut volvulus

Case no 10

                                                                               
History :
Five year old girl, with fever, cough, nausea and abdominal pain

 Technique:
Chest X ray, frontal and lateral projections

 Findings:
 Rounded lung opacity, giving a picture of mass like appearance, seen in the superior
segment of right lower lobe.

Follow up chest X ray
 after one month reveals complete resolution of the previously seen lung opacity
